Dear Friends

Well there is really not much to say. Amanda looks awful today. All she does is lay in bed and continues to try vomiting. The NG tube is helping somewhat, at least it is keeping her stomach empty, but she continues retching and at times bile still comes up. Her fevers continue but they go down with Tylenol for a little while then go back up. Her lungs are a problem and she needs the O2 constantly. Tomorrow the plan goes like this - take her to the OR, intubate her, do the endoscope first see what that looks like, do a bronchoscope, try to re-inflate her left lung, change her triple lumen IV in her left shoulder, and finally the most important, open her up for surgery. They will try to wrap her esophagus and if needed tighten her muscle around the diaphragm. Depending on the amount of the wrap there is the possibility of having to put in a G-tube. They will also check her J-tube because that started leaking last night. They will also look at her organs and possibly take biopsies of her pancreas due to her sugars being too high. Tomorrow will be a long day and the surgery is going to take some time. We will let everyone know as soon as we can. Thank you so much for all the prayers and wonderful kind words. Today has been a terrible day.

Love
