Dear Friends;

I know we haven't written in a couple of days but it just seems there is not enough time in the day. Amanda Sunday and Monday was doing okay. During the day she did good. In the late evening she started to feel sick, having nausea and vomiting episodes along with abdominal pain. Her output from her colostomy continues high so they have been re-adjusting her meds. As of yesterday afternoon Amanda has made a turn to the negative. She has increased output, and continuous vomiting. She doesn't get out of bed because she starts to vomit. This morning they scoped her and I'm very disappointed to say it looks like she is rejecting again. They are starting her back on high steroids along with other medications. Today is definitely not a good day.

When Amanda was in PICU there was another little 8 yr old girl right next to her. Jasmine had a multi-visceral transplant Aug 2002. She was doing great and went back home to Texas. Jan. 20th 2003 she was readmitted with cardiac problems due to her immune suppression medications and complications. I'm saddened to say Jasmine passed away yesterday morning. Since we have been here we have seen 4 children pass away. Although our faith is strong and in my heart I know those children are at peace, the pain continues on through the parents and loved ones. This is a very hard world to face, to watch and know how vulnerable we are day by day. Jasmine's death has scared Mike and I deeply. Please pray for her family.

With all our Love
