We received excellent news today. Amanda's biopsy from yesterday came back NEGATIVE!!!!!! This has been the best thing to happen to Amanda since the start almost 3 weeks ago.  Amanda had a peaceful day. Being hooked up to the vent, they have to keep her sedated, thus letting her sleep all day.  Amanda needed the sleep. She had a small fever of 100 F this morning and it went away quickly. Then around 600p she spiked a fever of 104F. The doctors said that all the cultures of the blood and urine have come back negative and that the fever is caused by the anti rejection drug campath. Yesterday Amanda received two units of blood and a unit of plasma. So please donate to the blood bank in Amanda's name.

Today the transplant house threw a valentine get together for all the patients, parents, volunteers and staff. A local high school girls volunteer group came and made homemade cookies and decorated the halls. The young ladies sang songs and read passages. Free food and drink for all. The transplant house has been great to us and they have a very helpful staff to help you with the mundane things like parking so you can concentrate on your child. Please go to the web page and pull up the link for transplant house to read about all the wonderful things they do.

Please send your thoughts and prayers out to our friend John Norbut whose mother died 2/10/03. Even in his time of grief, he requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to my daughters trust fund and the American Diabetes Association. Thank you John for this kind gesture. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mom came out of surgery yesterday with a steel plate in her right heel and some more pins in her ankle. She is resting well.

Thanks again for being here for us, Mike
