Today has been the worst yet. They have taken Amanda off the fentanyl drip (pain medication) so it doesn't slow down her intestinal tract and she able to create stool. Unfortunately for Amanda the other pain drugs are not working. She is staying in the PICU again because her oxygen level is to low and she needs to be on oxygen. The transplant doctors have told us that Amanda has had a mild rejection to her new organs. They have increased the steroid use to help control the rejection. The good news is that the fever has subsided and she is not sweating and shaking with severe chills.

Amanda sat in a chair and went for a short walk despite the pain she was experiencing. She needs to do this to keep from developing pneumonia. This is no easy task to accomplish considering the IV lines, oxygen tank, IV pole and NG tube hanging from her nose.

The days are becoming a blur. Monica and I are finding it harder and harder to watch Amanda in pain day in and day out. The doctors tell us that this is all part of the process and the children don't remember 6 months after. Unfortunately the parents remember forever.

My mother is doing fine. She has started rehab to get her out of bed and moving. I have spoken to her and she sounds good. They still have to operate on her heel sometime this week.

Thanks for all the prayers and support, Mike
