2/2
Today was a very good day. Amanda was taken to surgery and her stomach was closed. The surgeons were beaming after the operation, saying everything looked excellent. The biopsy came back negative for rejection. Amanda is in alot of pain and they are working on controlling it. She has returned to her normal weight maybe a little smaller. Our thanks go out to everyone for there prayers and thoughts. At this time we do not have an address to send cards because she's in PICU.  When she gets her own room we'll forward an address. Amanda is not out of the woods yet but we are making progress.

It's Sunday night 10:00pm and the phone rings. My father tells me that my mother was in a bad car accident driving home from Marco. She is a diabetic and didn't eat after taking her insulin. She drove to St. Pete and  4 blocks from the house she became disoriented  and blacked out with her foot on the gas. She rear ended a cab and smashed into a cement pole at approx. 70 mph. Mom has a broken femur in her left leg, a chattered rt heal, her left arm broken in 2 places, cracked ribs and a huge gash on her left arm that had to be stapled. She is in critical but stable condition. Mom was wearing her seat belt and the air bag inflated, both saving her life. Please say a pray for my mom's recovery. Thanks again for you help. Mike

P.S. Amanda is in some pain this evening but doing fine.
