Dear Friends;

Amanda had some good moments yesterday being Sunday. Kyle, Summer, Laura and Chris came to visit and their timing was perfect. Amanda was medicated for pain and nausea just before they came so she was able to enjoy her visit with her friends. She played Uno with Kyle and Summer and even joked around with Kyle and Chris. She also ate some pretzels and a few vanilla wafers which is the most she has eaten in over 2 weeks but come the following hour she started with the pain and vomited all she had eaten. This is what Amanda has been going through, not being able to keep anything down and continuing with the abdominal pain.

Yesterday we also took her out of the hospital to my mom and dad's house for a 3 hour visit. She did ok but by the time we got there and came back she vomited and needed her pain medication again. Amanda wants to just wake up and feel no pain and wants to eat so badly. The night was more of the same pain and vomiting. This morning they stopped her tube feeding to give her a rest and plan on doing a cat scan today. Pain management came to see us and although they do not think that her pain medication is the cause of these problems they are taking her off the one med and putting her on methadone to see if it manages the pain better with less side effects. Transplant doctors do not have all the answers but they still keep trying. They believe she has severe reflux which might need to be resolved by surgery and also she can be rejecting in a spot they cannot see. For now we take it day by day hoping each day she will make that turn. Next week she will be off the OKT3 3 weeks and then we watch her carefully. Thank you so much for all the prayers.

Love
