Dear Friends;

The last 48 hours have been very stressful. Amanda continues to have abdominal pain along with nausea and vomiting. Yesterday the doctors put her to sleep and scoped her down her throat and thru her ostomy. They took several biopsies but we do not have the results back. To look at it it didn't look perfect but it wasn't the worst. Amanda had a very difficult time due to her secretions and difficulty breathing. They did another chest x-ray and it shows her left lung is collapsed showing possible pneumonia. They also had to change her central line due to it being infected and after taking an x-ray the new line isn't in the right place so we have to re-do it. Today she had several abdominal studies that showed no obstruction which is great news. She continues vomiting and complaining of pain so hopefully with time having the infected line out, treating her for her collapsed lung and getting rid of the rejection all the way she should start feeling better. In speaking with the doctors they have decreased Amanda's steroids taken off IV prograf (one of her immune suppression meds) increased the other immune suppression med and are scoping her frequently.

We are going to try to keep this graft (the transplanted organs) for now. If Amanda goes into severe rejection again there is no more they can do than what they are doing; we will have to cross that bridge. My heart breaks watching her suffer so much and yet still have to push her even more to get her stronger. This week has been very stressful but I thank the doctors all for being so very supportive and caring, along with my family who are here every minute possible watching over me. Most of all my husband throughout this all, instead of breaking us, has shown me more love, patience and strength. I have definitely been blessed. Thank you for all your kind thoughts.

Love
