Dear Friends;

Today has been a very upsetting day. Amanda since Saturday evening has been crying from pain and continuously vomiting. The biopsy from yesterday's scope came back with still mild rejection which for the amount of immune suppression medication and steroids she is on is very disappointing to us.

At this point we are very concerned. We are battling the idea of continuing to try to save these organs but to what extent. Amanda is at high risk for other complications/infections which could really put her in a dangerous situation. If Amanda were to get an infection her body could very well not be able to fight and further damage other systems and at that point still reject but not be able to be transplanted again due to her compromised situation.

Of course knowing what could happen and not having a crystal ball to tell you what exactly is going to happen makes these issues so hard. Amanda's body is still fighting these organs but at what point do we make the decision to change the present medical course. The doctors are also concerned and are trying to plan the best course possible for Amanda. The doctors here have been very caring with Amanda as well as the rest of the transplant team. We understand that they do not know everything and that transplantation has come a long way, but still has many gray areas. Knowing this we still look towards these men and women for guidance and place Amanda in their hands along with our faith. Amanda will be well taken care of.

Tomorrow will be another day with more decisions. We await today's biopsy report. Thank you for listening and all the support we have received.

With All Our Love
